Caring for your baby means meeting his physical needs once he is outside the womb. It’s a big responsibility, but you don’t have to do it all alone. Information on this site and the members of your healthcare team will teach and guide you. And, just as you learned how to care for yourself and your baby over nine months of pregnancy, you will learn how to care for your baby over the next weeks and months. Keep in mind you don’t have to learn everything right away.

A preemie is a baby born before 37 weeks gestation. A newborn is a full-term birth to 1 month old. An infant is from 1 month to 1 year.
